Anti-Aging Labwork & Testing

Ageless Medicine of the Palm Beaches takes great strides to customize your age management treatments. Thus, our physicians offer comprehensive anti-aging labwork and medical testing to ensure that your body is getting exactly what it needs during treatment.

Below are three tests that measure your body’s micronutrients, telomeres, and cardiometabolic risk, which can be ordered separately or in conjunction with each other. When your results are received, an Ageless Medicine physician will discuss your customized Age-Management treatment plan with you. This plan is expertly designed to your body’s needs, including (but not limited to) a Nutritional Plan, Fitness Regimen, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Cosmetic Medicine, and/or IV Hydration Treatment Plan. Scroll down for more detailed information on each test and a step by step guide for how the process works.

Micronutrient Testing

Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals required in small quantities that are essential to our health, development, and growth. Each nutrient is responsible for specific physiological functions, making them unique and irreplaceable. Overwhelming evidence suggests that a lack of these vital nutrients has a profound impact on the body’s immune system. Thus, adequate intake of these vitamins and minerals could mean the difference between a healthy life and a life fraught with disease.

At Ageless Medicine of the Palm Beaches, we use SpectraCell’s exclusive Micronutrient Test, a comprehensive nutritional analysis of the body’s intracellular function. It measures 35 selected vitamins, minerals antioxidants, and other essential micronutrients in your white blood cells.

This anti-aging labwork analysis can reveal your nutritional status over a much longer period of time than conventional static serum testing, thus, providing you with a more meaningful measurement than all other nutritional testing.

Cardiometabolic Testing

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death. Standard cholesterol tests can miss that YOU are at risk. Poor blood sugar regulation and unhealthy triglyceride and lipoprotein levels often present long before the diagnosis of type 2 Diabetes. At Ageless Medicine of the Palm Beaches, we use SpectraCell’s CardioMetabolic panel. This test offers definitive diagnostic and clinically relevant evaluation to help define risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and progression toward type 2 diabetes. These check points along with an overall pre-diabetes risk score, help patients understand that not just one factor, but rather a constellation of risk factors, contribute to the genesis and progression toward poor blood sugar control and/or ASCVD. Results of testing allow doctors to know when guidance, educational referral, or treatment is necessary. Key components of the CardioMetabolic Risk Panel are listed below.

Who should take the CardioMetabolic Test?
All patients, and especially those who:

  • Have a family history of heart disease
  • Have been diagnosed with heart disease
  • Are already taking cholesterol-lowering medications
  • Have been diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome (high blood pressure)
  • Are overweight
  • Have high LDL – the bad cholesesterol
  • Have low HDL – the good cholesterol
  • Have high triglycerides

Telomere Testing

Telomeres are sections of DNA at the end of each chromosome that serve as a cap to your genetic material. Every time a cell replicates, its telomere will become shorter. Shorter telomeres imply a shorter life span for a cell. Age adjusted telomere length is the best method to date to assess biological age using structural analysis of chromosomal change in the telomere. Serial evaluation of telomere length is an indicator of how rapidly one ages relative to a normal population. Therapies directed at slowing the loss of telomere length may slow aging and age-related diseases.

At Ageless Medicine of the Palm Beaches, we use SpectraCell’s exclusive Telomere Test, based on the patient’s telomere length on white blood cells (T-lymphocytes). This is the average compared to telomere length on lymphocytes from a sample of the American population in the same age range. The higher the telomere score, the “younger” the cells. A Telomere Score that is above the average line is desirable.
